We are seeking candidates to help develop and apply novel advanced statistical methods for the analysis of multi-dimensional medical genomic data, in order to help the interpretation of such complex data and eventually to translate findings to the clinic. Specific interests of the group include cancer epigenomics, cancer systems biology, network physics, signal processing, and stem cell biology. We are engaged in numerous collaborations with clinicians and biologists in the UK, Europe and USA, and collaborative work is expected to be published in high-impact journals.
An M.S. or Ph.D. in bioinformatics, physics, computer science, engineering, biology, mathematics or a related field is required. Candidates must be highly-motivated and driven, and able to think independently. They must be keen to learn both novel statistics and biology. Fluent written and spoken communication in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English is required. Strong scientific programming is required. Computing experience in R, Bioconductor, BioPerl, Python, Matlab or SQL is highly desirable. Salary is negotiable and subject to previous experience.
